History

We highly value events that occurred in the past, so that we will always be able to prepare for a better life in the present.

With the growing awareness of building national unity among national insurance companies pushing the idea of forming a single forum for insurance companies, on November 25-30 1956 the Indonesian Insurance National Congress (KNAI) was held at the Salak Hotel – Bogor. Through the Congress several things were decided, one of which was to form the Indonesian Insurance Council (DAI) with the following objectives:

  1. Forming a National Insurance Entrepreneur front
  2. Strive to improve the position and organization as well as enhance the quality of the work of the National Insurance Entrepreneur

In implementing the decision, Congress gave 2 months to form the Basic Budget and the Household Budget together with its DAI manager. On February 1, 1957 in Jakarta DAI was formed by reading a joint statement that read:

We are national insurance and reinsurance entrepreneurs throughout Indonesia who are present today, February 1, 1957, starting with the revolution of the national insurance congress throughout Indonesia which was held on November 25 to 30, 1956 which wanted unity among national insurance and reinsurance entrepreneurs. in one joint bond, decided to form the Indonesian Insurance Council.

Indonesian Insurance National Congress (KNAI)

On 22-23 January 2002 the 10th DAI Congress was held which resulted in the following decisions:

  1. Approve its establishment:
    • General Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAUI)
    • Indonesia Life Insurance Association (AAJI)
    • Indonesian Social Security Insurance Association (AAJSI)
  2. Maintain the existence of DAI by amending the articles of association to become a federation whose members for the first time are associations formed by DAI, namely AAUI, AAJI and AAJSI.

In the DAI Members’ Meeting on September 13, 2005, it was agreed and decided that the name DAI was changed to the Federation of Indonesian Insurance Associations (FAPI) and for the purposes of DAI it was simplified, namely the sustainable management of insurance education, research and development, insurance media publication and mediation forums.

At the FAPI Member Meeting on June 30, 2010, it was decided to reuse the name of the Indonesian Insurance Council (DAI) which focuses on coordinating various issues for the overall interests of the members of the insurance association so that it does not overlap with the activities of its member association. So that in the articles of association, the duties of DAI are coordination of insurance education, research and development, management of insurance publications and coordination of cross-association activities and other tasks deemed important and necessary.
