The First Phase of Covid-19 Vaccination Activities for All Elderly and Frontliner IKNB Companies

Jakarta, 28 April 2021 – The Covid-19 Vaccination Activity for the elderly and the vanguard of Non-Bank Financial Industry (IKNB) companies at the Birawa Assembly Hall Hotel Bidakara Jakarta was held on Tuesday 27 April 2021. This vaccination activity is a collaborative program between OJK, the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia Health through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, the Indonesian Insurance Council (DAI), and 10 associations of IKNB sector companies. The technical implementation of this vaccine is in collaboration with RSIA Tambak which was previously appointed by the Ministry of Health and the DKI Health Office.

The implementation of this activity was attended by the elderly and the vanguard of IKNB companies, such as marketers/insurance agents, customer service, security, and cleaning services. Vaccination activities are carried out through several stages of the process starting from registration, health screening, vaccine injection, post-vaccine observation, and taking vaccine results cards to take the second stage of vaccination.

Besides being attended by the Association Chairs and Executive Directors of the IKNB sector, this event was also attended by Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin (Minister of Health), Mr. Wimboh Santoso (Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners), Mr. Riswinandi (Executive Head of IKNB-OJK) who on the occasion review the vaccination process. Then it was followed by a virtual teleconference to 4 (four) life insurance companies that also carried out a program to provide Covid-19 vaccines to the elderly, marketers/agents, and teachers or students. The life insurance companies that participated in organizing the vaccination event were PT. Prudential Life Assurance,
PT Asuransi Jiwa Central Asia Raya, PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia and PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia.

Based on information obtained from Mr. Dodi S. Dalimunthe as Chair of the IKNB Vaccination Event Committee, the vaccination activity which was attended by 233 participants was the first stage of vaccination, then the second stage will be carried out in several health centers that have been determined by the Ministry of Health and the DKI Jakarta Health Office, after 28 days after the first stage of vaccination.

Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso said this vaccination activity was a form of real collaboration between OJK, the non-bank financial industry, and the Ministry of Health is encouraging the strengthening of the financial industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. “We thank the Minister of Health for using the financial sector for vaccine distribution. We believe that if we carry out this program simultaneously, we can deploy more participants, wait for the gong, we will prepare,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin appreciated many parties involved in the success of the activity. According to him, this activity is a tangible manifestation of IKNB’s support in driving the economy because it provides vaccinations to the elderly and is at the forefront of driving the economy and the main service of community economic activities.

“Build vaccination centers in all your companies, ladies and gentlemen, let them now accelerate vaccination. So there is additional insurance plus vaccines. I hope that in July we will vaccinate around 200 million, will be vaccinated and we will finish it in six months,” he said.

“I believe we are not doing this exclusively, but must be inclusive. All components of the nation must use all the capital (capital) we have to overcome this pandemic. We need to be even faster, in July we will overcome the pandemic together,” he said.
